- Director, Mechanical Cardiac Support and Heart Transplantation, National Heart Centre, Singapore. He is instrumental in establishing several major programs including the Mechanical Cardiac Support, the Heart Lung Transplant and the dedicated non-invasive vascular laboratory.
Achievements and Accolades
1. National Outstanding Clinical Award
For his contributions towards the development of Cardiothoracic Surgery for close to 25 years, Dr Sivathasan was awarded the prestigious National Outstanding Clinician Award by the Ministry of Health, Singapore in 2011. The award recognizes individuals in healthcare establishments who have made exceptional contributions to clinical work that advances the safety and quality of patient care, and who have supported and facilitated research.
2. The Healthcare Humanity Award
He was also awarded the Healthcare Humanity Award by the President, Singapore in 2010.
